OUR COMMITMENT
1987 is committed to making shop1987.com accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe a functional, usable website is a basic standard — not optional.
STANDARDS WE'RE WORKING TOWARD
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, as referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). These guidelines define how to make web content more accessible to people with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.
STEPS WE'VE TAKEN
- Added an Accessibility Assistance link in our site footer that opens accessibility adjustment tools, including font size controls, contrast settings, keyboard navigation support, and screen reader adjustments.
- Added descriptive alt text to product and editorial images so screen reader users can understand visual content.
- Reviewed our theme for keyboard navigation, color contrast, and form label compliance.
- Implemented this accessibility statement to document our ongoing commitment.
KNOWN LIMITATIONS
We are an ongoing work in progress. Some content — including third-party embedded tools and legacy product images — may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. We are actively working to address these gaps.
THIRD-PARTY CONTENT
Some features of our site rely on third-party platforms including Shopify, payment processors, and marketing tools. We do not control the accessibility of these third-party services but encourage all of our partners to meet the same standards we hold ourselves to.
